Located just north of Northern Liberties, the Poplar neighborhood serves as a quick link to NoLibs. Poplar’s rebirth was led by an influx of artists, such as the creative minds behind the quirky PhilaMOCA, an art gallery and performance space in a former mausoleum which can be seen from The Poplar’s terrace. Views of NoLibs can also be seen just a few blocks away. Nothern Liberties, a former industrial area, revitalized by artists in the 1990s, is now a hipster hotspot pulsing with art galleries and trendy boutiques. Built on the site of an old brewery, The Piazza is a shopping and dining complex located under luxury apartments. Locals head to North 2nd Street for global restaurants, craft beer halls and dance clubs, or to the Liberties Walk pedestrian mall for bike paths and unique shops.
